What Hygge means to me:

To me hygge translates in many descriptive words; cosiness, relaxation, pleasures, togetherness, warmth, passion, and ultimately allowing yourself to be the happiest version of yourself.

Having read Meik Wiking's 'The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live' I have been totally captivated by how parts of the hygge already exist. For example: I work in a bright indoor environment 4 days a week, so in my own home I have dimmer switches on all my lights and often light the room with a row of low light LED's, lamps and candles.

I'm also inspired by the parts where I could make my life even more huggelige but I think if I add an actual fire to my cabin made of wood that'd be a bad idea right!?

The 6 elements of my life which I enjoy the most are right here on my website:

This months nostalgic memory:

We all get random flash backs for no apparent reason. It usually is triggered, in my experience, by a smell, sound, or some form of deja vu.

This months nostalgic memory was seeing the Tots TV intro clip again. Tots TV was a kids show I loved when I was young and I totally didn't realise how long it was. But it brought back moments when I'd sometimes watch it with a blanket around me, (hygge has always been there!) a bowl of Special K, eaten with a teaspoon, (some things never change) surrounded by the dogs and cat who were waiting for the left over cereal milk.

What I'm grateful for this month:

We often don't take time to reflect on our life. We get so encompassed by all the negative feelings that we forget about the good things and the parts which we should be allowing to shine through the dark clouds.

So I've made a pact with myself that once a month I am going to pause to remind myself of something I'm grateful for.

This months is time. Time has been on my side a lot this month. I've gotten my website fully up to date, looking as I want it, and even with updated content of photos that I've taken more recently that the previous selection. I'm also working on a few new projects which I can't wait to share with you interwebers soon!
